The Asher church has been involved in India for several years. We became acquainted with this work through Ricky Gootam from Kakinada, India when he was a student at Oklahoma State University. Ricky visited with us often with Aaron Fuchs, his classmate at OSU, who grew up here with this church. Ricky spoke to our young people and preached on a few occasions. Aaron has made several trips to work and preach in India with the assistance of our members. Ricky invited Jim Kelly to come to Kakinada and be one of the keynote speakers at the Asian Bible Lectureships in December, 2008. The Asher church was the lead church in financing and supporting this effort. Numerous individuals and congregations are involved in helping us with this great work. Jim is scheduled to again keynote the lectures in December, 2009.
